These operations were carried out in Manta, Jipijapa, Chone, Portoviejo and May 24.
Several operatives in the province of Manabí left 11 people detained as a result. In this action, the National Police dismantled four criminal gangs that were dedicated to drug trafficking and theft.
The police reported that these criminal groups were engaged in the theft of trucks carrying food and also educational units. They also marketed substances subject to control.
Among the evidence retained by the agents was 688 doses of marijuana, household appliances, a van-type truck, a motorcycle, vehicle parts, cell phones, clothing and basic necessities valued at $ 5,000, among others.
According to the police report, those learned were: Ángel Fernando R., Walter Manuel A., Juan Pierre Z., Cristhian Ramón M., Roberto Iván M., José Antonio M., Bartolo Marcelino C., Jordi Santiago R., Miguel Ángel P., Michael Bryan B. and José Humberto U.
The detainees had criminal records for robbery, concealment of stolen property, illegal possession of weapons and drug trafficking. (C.D.A.)
