Pichincha Prefecture has two projects to address the health emergency in the province of Pichincha

The Government of Pichincha promotes various initiatives to assist citizens during this health emergency against Covid-19.

In an interview with a local radio, the Prefect Paola Pabón explained the 2 programs carried out by the Government of Pichincha:

The first involves the sale of Pichincha Baskets, whose cost is $ 13 and $ 20. This contributes to activating production in the province and helping small producers and merchants.

At the moment around 750 baskets have been sold, which are being delivered to the home so that citizens do not leave their homes and thus avoid COVID-19 infections.

In addition, when the community buys Pichincha Baskets, it automatically helps with 10% to donate to families from vulnerable sectors.

The second program corresponds to the donation of approximately 15 thousand baskets to people from vulnerable care groups such as market porters, women and children victims of violence, street vendors who work day by day and due to this emergency have not been able to count on economic income to bring food to their homes.

Prefect Paola Pabon noted that Warmi Pichincha continues to provide psychological and legal assistance to women who are victims of violence in these moments of social isolation. He indicated the immediate telephone line for women to communicate: 0987427448.

In addition, the Pichincha COE is reviewing and validating some spaces that will serve to house people on the street and also for those who are within the epidemiological fence, so they must be in isolation. The Pichincha government made several sites available for analysis. (C.D.A.)
