Spanish Army finds elderly people dead in their residences due to coronavirus

The State Attorney General’s Office reported that some of these people lived in extreme situations and poor health conditions.

During the disinfection work in several residences in Spain, the Armed Forces found elderly people dead in their beds, a circumstance that has led the State Attorney General to open proceedings “to determine the seriousness of the events and their possible criminal relevance.”

Given this fact, the Defense Minister, Margarita Robles, reported that “the Army has been able to see elderly, elderly, absolutely abandoned when not dead in their beds.” In addition, he added that the authorities “will be absolutely unforgiving and forceful.”

For its part, the State Attorney General’s Office ruled through a statement and evidenced the existence of elderly people, “some of them ill residing in extreme situations and poor health conditions, as well as deceased residents.”
