Relatives and friends of compatriots request the Consulate in New Jersey not to abandon them.
William Molina and Luis Intriago, Ecuadorians aged 28 and 31, remain in quarantine in an Airbnb department in New Jersey, United States. The first has coronavirus and the second has symptoms.
They traveled on February 1 from Guayaquil to New York for vacations and were planning to return on March 1. Due to the health emergency, their flight was suspended and since then they have not been able to return.
Molina was the first to undergo the test, the result of which was positive for COVID-19.
Gemma Molina, sister of William, commented that the state of health of the young people is delicate and they have little food and medicine, because due to having the virus they cannot get out of the confinement.
He said that family and friends of both families try to help them, but that given the restriction measures in the United States, it is difficult for them.
He said that there are people trying to help them in the United States and that the Ecuadorian Foreign Ministry is looking for ways to provide the assistance they require.
It transpired that the Consulate, this Monday, March 23, sent them food. Even their relatives in Ecuador urged the Consulate not to leave them unprotected since bringing them is more complicated.
