Ecuador’s Parliament summons Government to dialogue

The call of the National Assembly of Ecuador to a dialogue to have a rapprochement and coordinate a road map in legislative matters is on the table of the Executive.

The call was made by the president of the unicameral parliament, Virgilio Saquicela, through a letter sent to the Minister of Government, Francisco Jiménez.

In the letter, Saquicela ratified that the only way for the progress of the country is the frank, honest, transparent, responsible and, above all, with results.

In this regard, he explained that the President of the Republic, Guillermo Lasso, and the representatives of the five legislative benches will also be notified.

The call is for next Tuesday 23, at 09:30 (local time), at the Legislative Palace, with the presence of the delegates appointed by both parties for this purpose.

“The one who is interested in the dialogue is the country. The country is above absolutely everything. We cannot be playing with back and forth from any of the sectors, neither from the Legislative nor from the Executive”, Saquicela said.

According to advances, the work plan would start with the Investment Law and would also include the labor regulations which, in the opinion of the parliamentary leader, are of interest of these powers of the State and of the whole nation.
