Swamped hospital emergency services and the resumption of the use of face masks outdoors are Australia’s current health outlook due to the rise in Covid-19 and influenza cases, ABC news reported.
The situation is similar to that in 2020 when the pandemic broke out due to the lack of capacity in health centers, this outlet reported.
Moreover, thousands of health workers have gotten infected with Covid-19 and influenza.
Prime Minister of Victoria, Daniel Andrews, announced the expansion of a virtual emergency plan via videoconference to assist an average 600 patients per day.
This measure seeks to alleviate the ambulance service and in the hospitals of that territory that on Monday reported 10,000 new cases, the official explained.
Andrews added that they are facing ever growing tension there due to a challenging influenza season and the spread of BA.4 and BA.5 Omicron subvariants.
