Palestinian PM denounces Israeli colonization in the West Bank

Palestinian Prime Minister, Mohammad Shtayyeh, denounced Israel´s plans to seize more land in the West Bank and to build up to 30,000 new houses in the Jewish colonies.

Tel Aviv´s authorities resume their settlement expansion activities in the occupied territories as soon as US president Joe Biden left the region, Shtayyeh affirmed in a governmnet´s meeting.

Last week, Biden visited Israel and the West Bank as part of a Middle East tour that finished in Saudi Arabia.

While here, Biden advocated a Palestinian state´s creation, but said that it is not possible for now, while highlighting the strong ties between Washington and Tel Aviv.

The Palestinian Foreign and Expatriates Ministry warned in a statement on the consecuences of settlement expansion in the West Bank.

According to the Israeli press, a new plan to build 2,000 houses in East Jerusalem will be approved next Sunday by the District Planning and Construction Committee of this city.

More than 490,000 Israelis live in the several settlements distributed throughout the West Bank and another 200,000 in East Jerusalem despite UN Security Council´s resolutions calling for an end to the Palestinian lands´ colonization.
