Delegations from Bolivia and Argentina continue today exchanging experiences in order to join forces against gender violence, confirmed the Minister of the Presidency, Maria Nela Prada.
“(We met) to share experiences in the framework of this integration of the peoples and of a joint fight that we are facing”, Prada assured in declarations to the state channel Bolivia TV.
The Argentinean delegation arrived the day before headed by the head of the Women, Gender and Diversity portfolio, Elizabeth Gomez, accompanied by Carolina Atencio and Haydee Di Giacomo, and will remain in Bolivia until April 27.
“Argentina has been carrying out a national plan of actions against violence, it has created a program in this government administration (?) The phenomenon of sexist, patriarchal violence is a very deep phenomenon in our societies”, said Gomez.
The program began the day before in a meeting with social organizations and the Bolivian civil society together with the Plurinational Service for Women and Despatriarchalization in the Casa Grande del Pueblo ( the Executive’s headquarters).
Subsequently, the premises of the Plurinational Legislative Assembly hosted the forum “Advances and Challenges of Public Policies for Women”.
Representing the Bolivian Chamber of Deputies, legislator Bertha Acarapi expressed that the country’s progress on this front is the result of the organized struggle of women, civil society institutions and the Government.
