The video surveillance cameras of the ECU 911 Macas record the emission of ash and lava flows that descend along the southeastern flank of the Sangay volcano, located in the province of Morona Santiago, Ecuador.
Images of the volcanic activity were posted on the ECU 911 Macas Twitter account.
The entity indicated that together with the National Risk and Emergency Management Service of Ecuador (Sngre) and the Geophysical Institute of the National Polytechnic School, a monitoring of the Sangay is carried out.
In his last report, the Geophysicist indicated that there have been no rains in the sector, but if it does occur, the presence of lahars in the Volcán, Upano and other tributaries rivers is not ruled out.
The Institute pointed out that incandescence was observed at the level of the crater. The Sangay is 5,230 meters high and is one of the most active volcanoes in the country.
