Ecuador plans the first humanitarian flight from Poland for next Monday if 350 passengers are reunited

The Ecuadorian Foreign Minister, Juan Carlos Holguín, reported that there is a plan for the first humanitarian flight, from Warsaw, and another flight will be needed to evacuate the majority of Ecuadorians in Poland.

The foreign minister speaks of assistance to Ecuadorians residing in Ukraine, amid complaints of neglect by the State in the journey to flee the war in Ukraine.

In social networks, the testimonies of Ecuadorians of having reached the border without the Ecuadorian Foreign Ministry contacting them were replicated.

Holguín assured that there was assistance. That they have contacted, one by one, with more than 558 Ecuadorians.

“We have issued more than 189 emergency passports in the last 48 hours and more than 800 one-on-one contact chats with students,” he added.

He informed that on Monday the first humanitarian flight will take place from Warsaw, Poland, for the first 350 Ecuadorians. But the flight will not be able to take off if it is not complete. For now, he said, more than 150 Ecuadorians have crossed the border into Poland, so they hope that by Monday they will complete the 350 passengers.

He said that they would need another similar flight to bring all the Ecuadorians back. In addition, he said that they are working to send compatriots to the borders of other countries, due to the high number in Poland.

Meanwhile, for the Ecuadorians who remain in Ukraine, Holguín mentioned that the supply of food and support is carried out in coordination with the International Red Cross.

Finally, he mentioned that they are working with various entities to achieve their promise: to bring all Ecuadorians alive.
