(Prensa Latina) Argentine Minister of Economy Martin Guzman on Wednesday described as nonsense the existence of secret documents in agreements with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and affirmed that he will present all the details to Congress.
He denied the complaints by some opponents, and stressed that the bill to be debated by the Parliament will contain annexes and details of the understanding reached a few days ago with the IMF to refinance the 45-billion-dollar debt contracted by former President Mauricio Macri.
“The idea that there will be secret documents is nonsense,” he told Telam news agency, and explained that once the IMF staff agreement is finalized, a bill will be sent to Congress containing all the documents that will form the basis of the deal, with each of its details, in its annexes.
President Alberto Fernandez and Guzman have met in the last few days to analyze the details of the technical discussions with the IMF, in order to sign in the next few weeks the letter of intent to implement the new program for the outstanding debt.
