Putin and Bolsonaro concluded their meeting in the Kremlin

(Prensa Latina) Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Brazilian counterpart Jair Bolsonaro concluded a three-hour meeting this morning at the Kremlin and will make joint statements to the press.

At the beginning of the meeting, Putin expressed his confidence in the usefulness of the meeting and stressed that the South American nation is one of the main commercial and economic partners in Latin America, with which his ties, interrupted in various ways by the Covid-19 pandemic, are being restored.

The host drew attention to the fact that several senior Brazilian government officials traveled to Moscow on Bolsonaro’s instructions and that this Wednesday a 2+2 meeting of the defense and foreign ministers of both countries also took place in this capital.

He highlighted that the two nations share intensively in several international platforms and that, despite all the restrictions, the trade volume grew 87 percent during the last year.

In the protocol part of the meeting, the Brazilian head of state said that his visit to Moscow sends a good signal to the world about the possible boom in bilateral relations.

He noted that both states have good prospects for cooperation in several areas, especially in defense, oil, gas and agriculture. “I am sure that this meeting will be very productive,” he pointed out.
