Vice President Alfredo Borrero will travel to the United States in order to explore possibilities for international cooperation in the health area.
Borrero plans to stay in the North American country until Sunday, because he will participate in business forums to try to attract investment.
In a statement, the Vice Presidency announced that Borrero, who is a doctor by profession, plans to present a project to transform the national health system based on digitalization, transparency, and cooperation with the private sector and with multilateral organizations. .
The Ecuadorian vice president will also meet with the representative of the General Surgery and Social Change Program at Harvard University, with whom he plans to sign a bilateral cooperation agreement for the transfer of knowledge and training.
As part of his visit to the United States, Borrero will talk with the White House medical adviser about cooperation and advice regarding the vaccination process against Covid-19.
The second president is also expected to participate in different meetings with representatives of organizations such as the World Bank, the Pan-American Health Organization and the US Cooperation Agency (USAID).
With them, priority issues for the Ecuadorian Government will be addressed, such as access to safe water, the eradication of malaria, transplants, among other issues.
