Alejandro Ribadeneira, head of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, announced that university students will return to classrooms in the coming days after reviewing the epidemiological situation in each city.
Ribadeneira revealed that 89,239 students have returned to the classroom and it is expected that more will be integrated in the coming weeks.
“At the moment, 43 universities and 88 institutes with return plans have been approved.”
This means that 42% of all higher education institutions in the country already have authorization to return to the classroom.
In the same way, the Secretary of Higher Education stated that technology should be used, since several careers can continue in virtual mode.
“It is not that the universities do not want to return to face-to-face classes, they are doing it little by little, but it must be done in an orderly manner.”
