(Prensa Latina) France’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew seven percent in 2021, an unprecedented progress since World War II (1939-1945), Economy and Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire stated on Friday.
The recovery came after a drop in GDP of eight percent in 2020 in the face of the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, a progression the official described as “spectacular.”
In statements to France 2 channel, Le Maire affirmed that with this data, the country erased the crisis, in addition to demonstrating “that the government’s policy is effective.”
The National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies had predicted a 6.7-percent growth for 2021, a similar forecast to that made by the Bank of France.
