According to the data they manage, there would be 15,000 – 20,000 infected people per day and the highest peak would be reported in the following week.

In the same way, Alberto Narváez, leader of the Medical Federation, indicated that the Government should not only worry about vaccines or COVID, because now we already have four epidemics at the same time: COVID epidemic, hunger and unemployment, deterioration of mental health and violence.

For his part, Luis Muñoz, secretary of the Ecuadorian Medical Federation, assures that they have tried to meet and talk with President Lasso on several occasions, but have not had a favorable response.

To conclude, the president of the FUT clarified that the decision to postpone the mobilizations is not agreed upon with the President of CONAIE, Leonidas Iza, but that he does not rule out meeting with the leader in the coming days to agree on a general position.
