In his morning press conference at the National Palace, the President explained that, with this decision, he seeks greater participation of women in the changes made by the Government in order to recognize the work they do in favor of the development of this country.
In the case of Rodríguez Ceja, he highlighted her exemplary performance in the Undersecretary of Finance in charge of managing public finances, where she acted with great responsibility.
He explained that thanks to her they have financial stability and that Mexico has not contracted additional debt when facing several problems that required a lot of investment, which shows that she is a very good public servant.
For the first time, said the President, a woman will lead the Bank of Mexico and this appointment does not generate any problem because it is in accordance with the established requirements.
He indicated that these require financial expertise of the candidate and occupying a high position linked to Treasury matters, which is the case of Rodriguez Ceja.
The presidente also recalled that the current governor of the issuing entity was an official of the Treasury.
Finally, he pointed out that, with this appointment, women continue to have priority in his government and he was pleased that yesterday the Senate approved a woman as a new minister for the Supreme Court of Justice, “an excellent lawyer, specialist in constitutional and human rights”.
