The Presidency of the Republic would execute a contract for USD 916,775, which includes the payment of 5 local or national ‘influencers’ to reinforce the lines of communication of the President and the National Government. This hiring occurs because they inherited a Communication Secretariat without a budget, although they stressed that it is a transparent process.
According to information from the portal La Historia, under the figure of the Communication Service for the Dissemination and Information of actions and Messages of the National Government, the Presidency of the Republic plans to spend USD 916,775, in order to reinforce the communication of the Executive.
This strategy is in tune with the strategy proposed by the President when he started his administration, since he indicated that he will not use national channels or citizen links to report on his government. In this context, in the 4 months of government he has only broadcast one national channel and has held interviews with private media at a national and international level.
In addition, to strengthen his communication team, he appointed Rafael Cuesta Vallerino as Ad Honorem Government Advisor for the president’s communication strategy and management.
