Bolsonaro’s speech at UN described as deceitful in Brazil

Brasilia, Sep 21 (Prensa Latina) Lawmakers, analysts and the media experts agreed in denouncing in Brazil that President Jair Bolsonaro lied on Tuesday in his speech at the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Renan Calheiros, a rapporteur from the senatorial commission (CPI)that is investigating the government’s management of Covid-19, described Bolsonaro’s 12-minute speech at the opening of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly as a sad show.

‘Unfortunately, another sad show. The president lied from the beginning to the end of his speech. It seems that he was talking about another place, different from this old country with all the contradictions that we know,’ the senator said.

He pointed out that the president’s shameful speech ‘shows to the world the republic of confinement, a shame for all Brazilians, the exhumation of insignificance.’

As the only G20 leader who was not vaccinated against Covid-19, Bolsonaro repeated his role as a rudimentary, anachronistic and passing figure, and a broadcaster of lies, he added.

Bolsonaro repeated, at the UN and before delegations from around the world, a speech in favor of the so-called early treatment, proven ineffective against Covid-19.
