Teachers, workers and university students, who are part of organizations such as the Federation of University and Polytechnic Professors (FEPUPE), the Federation of University Students of Ecuador (FEUE), staged a mobilization on the morning of this Thursday, September 9.
The peaceful march gathered in the Plaza Indoamérica, at the Central University of Ecuador and left in the direction of the National Assembly.
With this demonstration, students and teachers demanded the attention of the national government to the higher education sector and rejected the budget cut to all universities nationwide.
Likewise, they rejected the reform proposal to the Organic Law of Higher Education, presented by the Executive and qualified by the CAL, and demanded that the Legislature review their proposal with recommendations to this law.
In the mobilization, the president of the FEUE, Mauricio Chiluisa, emphasized that President Guillermo Lasso has not had a dialogue with this sector and rejected that this is a government of the meeting.
He also announced that they will join the mobilization called by the great popular front that groups together organizations such as CONAIE, FUT, UNE, scheduled for September 15.
