The first shipment of the coronavirus vaccine from the Chinese laboratory CanSino will arrive in the country in the first days of August.
Vice President Alfredo Borrero assured that the doses of this vaccine will be destined to rural populations of the Sierra, Coast and Amazon, in order to reduce the spread of variants of this virus.
The official emphasized that the Chinese drug is single-dose, that is, it requires a single application to immunize against Covid-19.
“Next week the CanSino vaccine will arrive. We will send brigades to rural populations of the country to inoculate people who have not been vaccinated, “explained Borrero.
He also informed that next week intensive vaccination will be resumed, at all points nationwide, to continue with the application of second doses of Pfizer, Sinovac and AstraZeneca biologics, available in the country.
Until last July 27, a total of 10,295,022 doses of vaccines have been applied throughout Ecuador; of which 8,148,966 correspond to first doses and 2,146,056 second applications.
