The Ministry of Public Health reported the death of six children receiving comprehensive care at the Marco Vinicio Iza Hospital, in the province of Sucumbíos.
The entity expressed its solidarity with the families of the minors in the face of these irreparable losses and made a commitment to the parents so that these facts are fully clarified.
The Health Portfolio indicated that, due to their prematurity and clinical conditions, two of the children died. Meanwhile, the other four registered a Blee-producing Klebsiella Pneumoniae infection.
Given this fact, it was announced that the ministry carries out an intervention in said health home, as a way of respecting the memory of each of the infants and in compliance with the responsibility of guaranteeing medical service to their current and future patients.
