By the end of August, 10 million people are expected to be vaccinated throughout the country, according to government projections.
The Vice President of the Republic, Alfredo Borrero, assured that 8.2 million vaccines have been applied in the country since the immunization process began. Similarly, he stated that, by the end of August, it is expected to have 10 million people vaccinated.
Borrero said that, as of July 19, 8.2 million vaccines have been applied in the country. About 2 million people with both doses and 4 million with one dose.
The Second President also indicated that a mass vaccination campaign with second doses is expected to begin in the coming days, since a large number of Pfizer, Sinovac and AstraZeneca vaccines arrived in the country.
“We are going to start a massive second dose process because we received 275,000 AstraZeneca vaccines over the weekend and we are going to start the vaccination process also with Pfizer and Sinovac.”
With this, according to Borrero, it is expected that, by the end of next month, 10 million people will be completely inoculated.
On the other hand, he announced that the country will receive 379,000 vaccines from the Covax initiative this week and, by the end of the month, 200,000 doses of Cansino are expected to arrive and, by next month, 500,000 more doses.
