Odebrecht’s Regional Director said that if the company fails in the country, the effective collaboration of José Conceição Santos would fall.

The regional director in charge of Odebrecht, Mauricio Cruz announced that he is open to dialogue with the Ecuadorian State, in order to pay the debts that the company has with the country, once the Government pays more than 120 million dollars that are pending for some of the works that the company obtained.

Cruz added that if Odebrecht fails in Ecuador, the cooperation of José Conceição Santos would fall, for which there are several people sentenced in the country, including former Vice President Jorge Glas and former Comptroller Carlos Pólit.

He indicated that through media reports, it is known that Santos did not declare everything in his effective collaboration, such as payments to Minister Pedro Merizalde, reinsurance with Ecuadorian Switzerland, other works and the 2012-2016 bribes case.

When he was asked if Odebrecht financed election campaigns in Ecuador, he said he does not have that information because he has no details of the past.
