Former president of the National Council of Parish Governments of Ecuador, Bolivar Armijos announced that he met with former president Rafael Correa to seal a possible candidacy for the 2021 sectional elections.
This meeting would have taken place during the visit of former President Correa to Cuba last week.
“I met with Correa 4 days ago in Cuba, where he asked me to accept being his running mate for the Presidency of the Republic because he knows my career leading the parish meetings of the country in these 19 years.”
In the same way, he stressed that, in the case of winning the elections, he will convene a Constituent Assembly since a ‘dictatorship is currently being lived in Ecuador.’
“We are going through a dictatorship and the few power groups, which are the ones that run the country’s economy and politics, are taking advantage of the Ecuadorians’ wealth.”
