Syrian army continues anti-terrorist operations in desert

(Prensa Latina) Syrian army units and their allies on Friday continued their advances in several fronts in the desert region of Al-Badieh in order to eliminate remnants of the terrorist organization Islamic State (Daesh, in Arabic).

According to military sources quoted by Al-Watan newspaper, the operations focused on the al-Rahjan and al-Shakousieh villages, in east Hamas, where the joint Syrian and Russian aviation launched more than 45 raids on caves, headquarters and supply routes of the radical groups.

The bombings, the sources detailed, caused many casualties among the extremists and destroyed their war material, while no clashes were reported in the area from where the terrorists fled to distant areas in the desert.

Syria and Russia have repeatedly denounced that the United States forces illegally present in the national territory train and transfer extremists to use them in attacks against the Army positions and civilian communities in this region.

The recent aggressions in that area, according to the reports, are planned and facilitated by US soldiers who offer weapons and intelligence information to terrorists from their military base in Tanef in order to destabilize and prolong the war in this Levant nation.
