(Prensa Latina) The Israeli army killed 13 Palestinians in June, wounded 689 and arrested 384 others, while demolishing 31 homes and facilities, the official Wafa news agency reported.
In its monthly report, based on reports from its correspondents on the ground, the news agency said that eight of the fatalities occurred in the West Bank and the other five in the Gaza Strip.
The source disclosed the names of the 13 dead, including Mai Khaled Youssef Afana, a university professor at Al-Istiqlal University; Muhammad Saeed Hamayel (15 years old) and Ahmad Zahi Bani Shamsa (16 years old).
Wafa detailed that most of the injured received live and rubber bullets wounds, as well as injuries from sound and gas bombs.
Injuries were also reported as a result of Israeli forces’ repression of peaceful protests in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah against the eviction of Palestinians from their homes and the demolition of houses in the West Bank town of Silwan, it added.
The news agency noted that nearly 4,650 Palestinians are currently being held in Israeli jails, including 180 children, 39 women and 550 sick people.
