107,640 doses of Pfizer arrive in Ecuador

This Tuesday, June 1, 2021, a new batch with 107,640 doses of the US vaccine from Pfizer arrived at the Mariscal Sucre airport in Quito, as part of the agreement that the Ecuadorian Government has with this pharmaceutical company.

This is the fifteenth delivery of this distributor, which reaches the country, of six million negotiated vaccines. These formulas will be added to continue with the restructured 9/100 Vaccination Plan, presented yesterday by government authorities.

With this new immunization process, the Government expects to inoculate 9 million people in 100 days.

The President of the Republic, Guillermo Lasso, also announced that 500,000 doses of the Chinese CoronaVac vaccine from the Sinovac laboratory will arrive on June 16.

Until this June 1, throughout the national territory there are 427,690 people infected with Covid-19, who have been confirmed with PCR tests; while 20,620 have died. Of this total, 15,137 are deaths confirmed by the virus; while 5,483 are probable deaths from the disease.
