The Ecuadorian Government will evaluate the lack of medicines in the country’s public hospitals, after verifying this critical situation that the health system is going through.
This Tuesday, June 1, after a tour of the Carlos Andrade Marín Hospital of the Ecuadorian Social Security Institute (IESS), the vice president and person in charge of supervising the health system, Alfredo Borrero, considered the lack of drugs unfair.
“I HAVE LEFT WITH A TORN SOUL AS I SEE THE REALITY OF THIS HOSPITAL, PROBABLY THE MOST IMPORTANT IN THE COUNTRY. IT IS NOT FAIR FOR PEOPLE TO GO OUT TO BUY MEDICINES ”, HE EMPHASIZED.
Borrero indicated that they will investigate this case, in order to change the health system.
For her part, the Minister of Health, Ximena Garzón, indicated that a survey will be carried out of all the drug purchase process, to determine in what state they are and identify the “critical nodes.”
