Two crew members of a ship stranded in Ecuador have tested positive for Covid-19

Two of the 19 crew members of the Morning Chorus ship, two have tested positive for coronavirus, so the ship will remain in quarantine. This was confirmed by the Ministry of Health on Wednesday night, May 12.

Through a statement, the State portfolio reported that the two infected people are asymptomatic. In addition, he indicated that the crew member who died days ago, also tested positive for Covid-19, so his death was due to the virus.

Health announced that the ship will remain in quarantine off the coast of Ecuador until the health authority notifies the crew of the epidemiological discharge

Likewise, it indicated that, only, in the event that one of the crew members presents complications in their health condition, they will be transferred to a hospital assigned for treatment.

The vessel from the Port of San Antonio in Chile, which was heading to South Korea, arrived in emergency on May 10 at Port Posorja, in Guayas. That day, the National COE authorized the “forced arrival.”
