“I am going to help him in what he can, but I am not going to live in Ecuador,” stressed the political strategist.
Jaime Durán Barba, political consultant and chief strategist for Guillermo Lasso’s campaign, announced that he will work as an advisor to the president-elect, although he stressed that he will not be a public official, but that he will contribute ideas to the new government.
Durán Barba explained that he will not live in Ecuador, but that he will visit the country once a month and help Lasso with ideas and important people.
“I’m going to be here, I think once a month. I will help you with ideas and I will bring people. Walking around the world has allowed me to make relationships with many interesting people ”.
In the same way, he explained that his position will not have the hierarchy or rank of minister, since that is not his style of work. In addition, he pointed out that he would only help the president-elect with ideas, because he will not act as his spokesperson either.
“I will contribute with ideas in whatever Guillermo wants. I do not like public functions, or solemnity. I like to be politically incorrect “
On the other hand, he stressed that Lasso will need alliances to govern, for which he recommended that he stop fanaticism and take into account people with experience from other political organizations.
“Among the correistas there are prepared people, honest people, and there are people from the other. The work of changing the country cannot be of a sect. If there are correista people to help, perfect. If there are social-Christian people who are opposed to change, let them go ”.
