(Prensa Latina) The supreme leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Ali Khamenei, called for full participation in the presidential elections on June 18, in a speech broadcasted on state television on Monday.
The next elections, he said, will be a great opportunity and a fundamental factor for the foundation of the national political system; he also recalled how ‘all elections in Iran have gone peacefully.’
In Khamenei’s opinion, the Iranian people will inaugurate another chapter of their loyalty to the Islamic Revolution with their usual mass participation in the thirteenth presidential vote.
On the other hand, he pointed out that the Guardian Corps of the Islamic Revolution in Iran constitutes a main factor in the dignity and political independence of the country.
Khamenei said that, by freeing itself from Western rule, especially the United States, the Islamic Republic’s approach to China, Russia and their neighbors is annoying for that enemy.
‘(The US) gets extremely irritated (because of it),’ he noted.
