Starting next week, the incoming president, Guillermo Lasso, and the current president, Lenín Moreno, will begin the government transition process, which will become official on May 24, 2021.
This was announced by the Secretary General of the Cabinet of the Presidency, Jorge Wated, this Tuesday, April 13, in a press conference in which he explained that Moreno called Lasso, to personally invite him and his wife to Carondelet, the next week.
"He has also invited the elected vice president with his wife, who will be received with the vice president and her husband," Wated added.He also reported that the president appointed him to lead the government transition team together with Minister Andrés Isch; Therefore, next week, they will meet with Juan Carlos Holguín and Iván Correa, the team designated by Guillermo Lasso for this process.
The Secretary General of the Cabinet emphasized that all the information of the Executive will be sincere and transferred to the elected Government.
"Without a doubt, the most important problems and what worries the most will always be first on the table," he stressed.
