Patient diagnosed with the Brazilian variant of the coronavirus had contact with more than 100 people

More than 100 people are part of the epidemiological fence due to possible contagion with the Brazilian variant of Covid-19, detected in a 50-year-old patient who remains under surveillance at an IESS hospital in Loja.

This was explained by the Minister of Health, Camilo Salinas, this Tuesday, April 13, during the vaccination session at the Central Technical College, north of Quito.

The official explained that the epidemiological fence detected last weekend was initially 40 people; however, he assured, currently the siege exceeds 100 cases.

He also indicated that the patient was admitted to a hotel in Loja and subsequently moved to the province of Zamora.

Regarding his family and social circle, the minister reported that, so far, they have no symptoms and remain under daily medical evaluation.

Regarding the health condition of the citizen infected with the P1 variant of the coronavirus, Salinas revealed that today it has evolved favorably; however he still remains under a reserved prognosis
