(Prensa Latina) Haitian opposition asked population Wednesday to protest in solidarity against insecurity, started by the Catholic Church after seven religious individuals were kidnapped.
The Episcopal Conference announced that its institutions will remain closed (except for hospitals and health centers) from Wednesday to Friday in order to demand the release of five priests, two nuns and two relatives.
Past Thursday, it was also promoted a similar protest supported by private sector closing stores, schools and other non-public entities.
The Political Directorate of the Democratic Opposition, which brings together several political parties, encouraged citizens to unite with Catholic Christians and the Episcopal Conference to achieve Haiti´s liberation.
