Older adults waited more than 3 hours to receive the Covid-19 vaccine in Guayaquil and many people complained that shifts were not being respected

In Guayaquil, 7 centers were established to vaccinate citizens. Jorge Wated, secretary of the Presidency, recognized the problems that many older adults experienced and hopes that this will be solved when more vaccines arrive in the country.

For their part, these large waiting lines have not occurred in all the vaccination centers set up by the MSP. At Alfredo G. Paulson Hospital, the process between registration and administration of the dose takes 30 minutes.

The city’s mayor’s office reached an agreement with the national government for the immunization of Guayaquil residents. As of Monday, April 12, 2021, 4 vaccination points will be enabled for beneficiaries.
