The tally sheets that will be used for the second round of elections this Sunday, April 11, 2021, were printed on paper money, to avoid being photographed or scanned.
These minutes are used by the members of the Vote Receiving Boards (JRV) to write the total number of votes that each candidate receives.
José Cabrera, CNE councilor, confirmed that these documents will have various security systems and that it is the first time that changes of this type have been made. The main variations will be:
A color-changing hologram stamp
A water fund with the words ‘National Electoral Council’
The prints were made on 90 gram paper money.
13’099.150 Ecuadorians will go to the polls on April 11, to elect the next President of the Republic. Andrés Arauz from Unión por la Esperanza (UNES) and Guillermo Lasso from the CREO-PSC alliance are the two options on the ballot.
