Venezuela will cooperate to maintain oil market stability

(Prensa Latina) Venezuela’s Sectoral Vice President for Economy Tareck El Aissami ratified on Thursday his country’s commitment to continue cooperating to maintain the stability of the oil market, affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

During his participation in the 15th Ministerial Meeting of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries and their allies (OPEC+), the high official stressed the importance of the Declaration of Cooperation.

‘We are going to continue working (…) this mechanism, which we have described as virtuous, has allowed us to achieve stability in the global energy industry, especially in the oil market with stable prices for an economy that is recovering from the catastrophic Covid-19 impact,’ he said.

El Aissami reiterated that Venezuela will fulfill the goals set out in the framework of that energy alliance, which boosts the recovery of the post-pandemic economy.

‘Our conviction is tied to this commitment to work with OPEC+ countries,’ he added.

Venezuela is one of the promoters of the Declaration of Cooperation, created to achieve a rebalancing of the world oil market, for which it advocated at the meeting to continue its implementation.
