50 neighborhoods of Loja have been without water for 14 days

The heavy rains in recent weeks caused damage to the drinking water collection and distribution systems.

50 neighborhoods of the Loja canton have been without drinking water for 14 days, because the heavy rains registered in the canton in the previous days caused significant damage to the catchment and distribution systems of this vital liquid.

From the Municipality they clarified that the pipes still register damage and the solution for these 50 neighborhoods will take time. For now, tanker trucks are responsible for the distribution of water in these areas.

People harmed by these damages insist that the demand for water is very high and request that other public and private institutions intervene to face this problem.

Maintenance and cleaning work continues in five sectors, such as the Quebrada de las Pavas and also in Curitroje and Carigán, where other effects on the drinking water pipes were located.
