The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) disbursed USD 200 million for Ecuador on March 24.
The resources seek to protect social spending and recover employment, according to the Ministry of Economy and Finance
The ministry explained that with this loan the quality of life of the population will be increased with the improvement in coverage, targeting and quality of priority social programs, as well as the implementation of measures to support the recovery of employment, especially of the vulnerable population segments.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Economy, Mauricio Pozo, indicated that the resources disbursed are a recognition of the efforts made by the Government to protect the living conditions of the poorest people in the country and to provide a way out of the recession through the productive reactivation.
The loan includes strategic actions to close gender gaps and create formal employment.
