Ecuador reports 263 new infections and 38 more deaths in the last 24 hours. This Thursday, March 4, 2021, the country has a total of 289.735 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 15.959 deaths due to the pandemic.
According to the latest report from the Ministry of Health, 11.192 people died with a positive diagnosis. While 4.767 died with suspicion of carrying the respiratory virus.
Hospital occupancy has remained high since the last week of February, with more than 1.300 hospitalized daily. This Thursday, there are 842 stable hospitalized and 510 with a reserved prognosis. In total, there are 1.352 patients in one day. While 65 more people were discharged from the hospital.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, the country has 247.898 recovered patients, which represents 86.63% of the total infected. In the last week, from February 22 to 28, there were 9,081 more diagnosed who overcame the disease.
