“We urgently need to implement a massive vaccination campaign,” said Hugo Romo, president of the Ecuadorian Academy of Medicine.
Medical unions and all health personnel asked the new Minister of Health, Rodolfo Farfán, to speed up the vaccination process against Covid-19.
The health personnel make this request aware that with a new minister, the negotiations reached with the distributors of the drugs against the coronavirus may be delayed due to some discrepancy.
“We urgently need to implement a massive vaccination campaign,” said Hugo Romo, president of the Ecuadorian Academy of Medicine.
The union representatives also hope that Minister Farfán will comply with the requests in the short time that he will be in office.
The situation in hospitals continues to be critical, since the Intensive Care Units (ICU) are at full capacity, as are the hospitalization units. For their part, doctors confirm that drugs are also beginning to be in short supply.
