Cuba asks Biden and his administration to withdraw sanctions against the island

The government of Donald Trump expelled Cuban representatives to Washington, closed consular services, issued travel alerts, canceled educational visits and paralyzed bilateral dialogue.

This Friday, February 12, 2021, the Cuban authorities confirmed that they will request the President of the United States, Joe Biden, and his government to withdraw the sanctions against the country that the Donald Trump administration imposed in the previous period.

Officials of the Donald Trump government denounced having been victims of sonic attacks between 2016 and 2017 by Cubans at the United States embassy. Employees reported headaches, nausea, deafness and vomiting.

After this alleged attack, the United States consulate left Cuba in 2018, prohibiting family members living in Florida or in other sectors of the North American country from receiving or providing help.

In recent days it was revealed that the premises on which the government of Donald Trump relied to begin a policy of attack on Cuba were false.

The false reasons that the Trump administration presented served to expel Cuban representatives to Washington, close consular services, issue travel alerts, cancel educational visits, in addition to paralyzing the bilateral dialogue.

During the presidential campaign, the Democratic leader and winner, Joe Biden, promised to review the sanctioning policies of his country against Cuba.
