The Minister of Education, Monserrat Creamer, announced that 77 educational units will be able to resume their pilot plans for the progressive return to the classroom starting next Tuesday, March 2, 2021.
The minister reported that the national COE approved lifting the suspension of the pilot plans of these educational units, which had already been in operation since September, but were suspended in December, due to the increase in COVID-19 infections and hospital occupation.
She indicated that they do not have the exact number of teachers and students who would progressively return to face-to-face classes. She only mentioned that there are 2 schools in Azuay, 2 in Chimborazo, 25 in Loja, 3 in Morona Santiago, 5 in Napo, 1 in Orellana, 4 in Pastaza and 24 in Pichincha.
