Electoral silence will begin this February 5

The candidates rush their campaigns in the last days, to win another vote of Ecuadorians

The general elections will be held on Sunday, February 7, 2021, therefore, the electoral campaign will end this Thursday, February 4, 2021. The candidates try to convince Ecuadorians to vote for them

This Friday, February 5, 2021, the so-called “electoral silence” will begin, where the candidates will no longer be able to carry out any campaign. On the same day 8.307 persons deprived of liberty without a final judgment may vote.

The electoral authorities are controlling all the advertisements made by the candidates, where 41 infractions have already been detected in different billboards and two complaints have also been sent to the Contentious Electoral Tribunal.

To end their electoral campaigns, the candidates have carried out different activities. Andrés Arauz from Unión Por la Esperanza plans a simultaneous closure in Guayas and Quito, in recent days he has made caravans in some cantons of Manabí.

On the other hand, the candidates Lucio Gutiérrez and Guillermo Lasso plan to be in Quito in the coming days, the latter will carry out the closing of his campaign in Guayaquil. For his part, Yaku Pérez will close his campaign in Cuenca.

The other candidates plan different closings with interviews or some event with caravans in various provinces and cities.
