The National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INEC) reported that the results of the National Survey of Employment, Unemployment and Underemployment (Enemdu), cut to December 2021, are postponed until some stages are completed.
In a statement, the entity said that the new date for the presentation of the employment figures will be indicated, because the recommendations of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) are analyzed, in order to perfect strategies.
Given the presence of the coronavirus in the country, the INEC indicated that it is working on the rethinking of mechanisms for the collection and processing of statistics with a view to delivering reliable studies.
According to the statistical calendar for 2021, the INEC should have released the employment figures last Monday, but the executive director of the INEC, Diego Andrade, resigned a day earlier.
The latest report on employment was released in October. On that occasion, full employment was located at 32.1%, underemployment at 23.4%; non-full employment at 26.3%, unpaid employment at 10.8% and unemployment at 6.6%.
