Ecuador registers 234.315 cases of COVID-19 and 14.437 deaths

Ecuador reports 1.747 new infections, being a new peak of daily infections. This January 20, 2021, the country has a total of 234.315 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 14.437 deaths due to the pandemic.

According to the report of the Ministry of Health, 9.810 people died with a positive diagnosis and 4.627 deaths with suspicion of carrying the respiratory virus.

This day, the country reports 716 stable hospitalized patients and 493 with a reserved prognosis. While 102 more people were discharged from the hospital.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the country has registered 199.332 recovered patients, which represents 86.11 of the total infected.

Pichincha has 702 new infections and 30 more deaths in the last 24 hours. In total, the province reports 82.025 diagnosed with the coronavirus and 2.382 deaths. Quito adds 675 more infected and the total number of cases in the Ecuadorian capital rises to 75.710
