Ecuador reports 209.758 cases of COVID-19 and 13.994 died

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 184.507 patients have recovered, which represents 88.13% of the total number of people infected and, according to the report, tends to increase.

Ecuador report reports 405 new contagions and bad decisions in the last 24 hours. The country starts the week with a total of 209.758 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 13.994 died due to the pandemic.

According to the Ministry of Health, 9.441 people died with a positive diagnosis and 4.553 died with the suspicion of carrying the respiratory virus.

At the national level, 468 patients are stable and 359 with a reserved diagnosis. In total, there were 827 hospitalized in one day. I saw that 40 more people received hospital discharge.

The Minister of Health, Juan Carlos Zevallos, announced this that the hospital occupation in the Intensive Care Units of the MSP hospitals has remained at about 78%, with considerable variation.

Pichincha records 80 new contagions and no one has yet to decide. In total, the province, the epicenter of the pandemic, has 74.362 diagnosed and 2.300 died. More than 66 infected children and 68.512 cases of COVID-19 in the Ecuadorian capital.

For the celebration of New Year, the authorities could keep the bio-security measures and avoid agglomerations. Besides, they know that family meetings should keep a minimum of people, for short time and, preferably, in ventilated spaces.
