The president pointed to the Government of Colombia and the Venezuelan opposition as responsible for the diversion of those funds.
The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, blamed the opposition and the Government of Colombia on Thursday for the theft of millionaire funds destined to pay for the return of Venezuelans who were stranded in other nations as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The president said that the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) approved funds for this activity, but they were stolen by the opposition deputy, Juan Guaidó, and “the G4RP”, as he calls the group made up of Guaidó himself, Henry Ramos Allup, Julio Borges and the fugitive from justice, Leopoldo López.
Maduro asked where is the money approved to help Venezuelan migrants return from Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile and other countries. Who stole it and what bank accounts it is in, he stressed.
