The resources for the 2021 elections are assured. The Plenary of the National Electoral Council (CNE) reported that the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) approved the delivery of the electoral budget, which was set at USD 91 060 644.
The amount indicated includes the reduction of USD 23 million from the initial figure that exceeded USD 114 million.
In a press conference, the councilors indicated that this action will guarantee the resources for contracting the goods and services necessary for the normal development of the electoral process next year.
They assured that the figure was specified after working in a coordinated manner in technical tables with the Ministry of Economy.
The president of the CNE, Diana Atamaint, recognized the opening offered by the Minister of Economy and Finance, Mauricio Pozo, to deliver the resources and thereby guarantee the fulfillment of various activities planned in the electoral calendar.
She said that coordination with the Ministry of Economy has borne the expected results, always attached to the health and economic situation that the country is going through.
The electoral budget proposes a system of quick counting of the electoral results of the presidential binomials, both in the first and in the second round, as well as financial compensation for the members of the 38.979 Vote Receiving Boards.
